How many hives to pollinate an acre of squash?

I have a friend who has two acres of squash and cukes. He wants me to bring out some hives. How many hives per acre?

most crops are two hives per acre minimum, crops they do not like require more

Vine crops, watermelon, cucumber, cantaloupes, squash, others, a minimum of two hives per acre if you have several feral colonies in the area, if not, then 4 hives per acre.

Four per seems reasonable. This friend, is he going to pay you for pollination or do you get all the squash you can eat?

You may not see bees in the squash flowers, especially if there is anything else around more attractive to the bees. Vine crop flowers are only open to bees a short time during a day.
