moving hive
I would like to move a tbhive 10'. It is a three week old hive that is doing well. It is behind another hive that when i work the front hive it puts me in the flight path of the hive I want to move. I figure if I do it at dark when all the foragers are back it shouldn't be an issue. Any advice or opinions?

Re: moving hive
This is what I'd do. Close the entrance after dark. Move the hive to it's new locations and stick a tree branch in the ground or on top of the hive (depending on what type entrance you have) so the leaves mostly cover the entrance and open the entrance. When the bees fly out in the morning, they'll notice something is different and will re-orient before they take off. You might have a few bees returning to the old spot, but only for a day or two.
