harvesting pollen

IM taking pollen from one hive, using a bottom trap,i was getting so much, the first 2 days, i opened the top of trap, to allow the bees to pass thru. still getting 1/3 pound on sunny day.. are wetaking to much? the hive is very healthy, just want to keep it that way. any advice?

Give then half a week off every week and the colony will not suffer. Your honey harvest will suffer a lot in my experience.
