Hive inspections

Installed my first bee package a week ago
Saturday, the 21st. I opened the hive
that next Wednesday to make sure the queen
was out of her box(she was). Moving forward,
how often should I inspect the hive?

I always recommend that new beekeepers inspect every 7-10 days their first season. Consider this your learning hive. The best way to learn about your bees and what goes on in a hive is to inspect. As time goes on, you'll learn to spot things at a glance that aren't at all obvious when you're a beginner.
