Greetings from Arkansas
Hey there, I am from Arkansas, live in Little Rock and keep the bees south of here about 20 minutes on my parents' ten acres. We have several fruit trees, some blackberries, blueberries and assorted gardens. I planted about an acre of wildflowers, annual and perinnial around the hive location. Waiting to see them grow.
Have three hives:
A walk-away split from a friend--four frames of bees and several queen cells. Installed March 30
A 3# package installed April 9
A five-frame nuc installed April 14.
They are all laying eggs and drawing comb.
I studied entomology in graduate school and finally got around to keeping bees now that I am almost 41.
One great thing is that all the beeks I have met have been great people.
I have learned a lot on these boards.
Just happy to be here and trying this crazy hobby out.
