    Default Dead Swarm

    Well im working this morning in Columbus and get a call for a swarm. Easiest swarm Ive ever grabbed. I kept the Ac on all day like normal in the service truck and when i get home early i open them up to see they overheated =( It about made me sick!

    So how do they ship them so this does not happen?

    Maybe lack of ventilation more then heat.

    It was in the seventies today. I had 2 screened holes on one side. a disc with small holes on the front. a feeder hole the size of a mason at the top, screened. I think the swarm was just too big and made too much heat and i needed more vents =(

    Next time try this; cut a piece of window screen larger than the box. Place across the top and use a bungee cord to hold it in place. No lid! They need plenty of air flow, not AC.

    I caught a swarm last week that ened up dying because my bee vac was on the wrong setting and I didn't know it. I was sick to my stomach.
