Default Length of time in a 5-frame nuc box

I am picking up 4 additional nucs in the morning. Despite my best efforts at planning, the schedule for picking up and installing has not worked in my favor...

So my question is this: how long can a nuc remain in the 5-frame cardboard nuc box that they come in? I am picking them up in the morning but will not be able to install them until Monday, or maybe even Tuesday morning....

Thanks for any input on the subject.

Depends on how productive your queens are and the crowding situation. To many swarms cells hatch away they go 21/2 to 3 months tops my experience.

probably not a problem. They will still be sorting themselves out in those few days.

They will chew holes in the cardboard and make their own entrances

Set them out in the location you've chosen and open them up so they can fly. When you have time move each one into a hive body on the same spot. Our splits stay in 5 frame nucs for 3-6 weeks until strong enough to bump them up into an 8 frame box. The cardboard nucs will be fine unless you get a good amount of rain.

The five frame nucs I got today are full of bees and brood and they would abscound in a week if left in there. It all depends.
