Commercial swarm lure or lemongrass oil and beeswax. One has to be slightly better than the other. I`ve never used either, successfully, so I have no opinion. Thanks.

Most of the commercial swarm lure I've seen has been LGO+Geranium Oil+Lemon Oil ... with a VERY slight amount claiming to include QMP. That said, I'd expect to see just about 0 difference between mix-it-yourself and commercial, unless the recipe is changed (i.e. including/not including QMP)
I've used both with what seems to be equal success, though I haven't paid real close attention to the results. They both work. Old, black comb added to the swarm trap enhances any lure.
I prefer Bee-Scent from Great Lakes IPM

cheaper than either commercial lures or lemongrass oil. 2 tsp on a paper towel folded to fit a zip lock baggy. No need to open the baggy. The smell permeates the bag.
