We have been seeing scorpions outside and inside. I found a mashed one between the inner cover and the edge of the hive body. I have hive lizards to but there harmless. The scorpions aren't welcome. Has anyone else seen any? Are they a threat to 50,000 bees?
No threat to the bees but watch where you place your fingers! We have some here in FL that the sting hurts so bad it'll make a Marine cry! Almost paralyzing pain! You most likely have the same ones in AL. Aren't we lucky?
I remember unloading semi's of bees from Florida in my miss spent youth and these little white *%)#* scorpians would be where ever your soaking sweat wet forearm came to bear on the back of a hive you were unloading in the days before universal forklift! Maybe I was the universal foklift. The first one I wondered if I was going to die having never been hit by one before. By the end of the load, it just blended in with the bee stings.
