A friend saw I needed supers. He was downsizing so he gave me nineteen with frames. I am going to put in new foundation after cleaning them up. They have slotted bottom bars that are packed with wax. What is the best way to remove it?

I'd put them in hot water just long enough to melt the wax. Could try a heat gun......but be careful as wax burns....
Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don’t have film.
I use the Maxant hive tool and scrape / slice each bar. Most of the wax falls out the rest I was able to push through with the Maxany.

This frame cleaning tool has an end like a straight screw driver but the handle is offset. I find it great for cleaning the frames that have split bottoms. Should work on grooved as well.
