What to feed a new package?

I am a newbee from North Carolina and I am getting two 3# packages in about 10 days. I will be installing them in a Kenyan top bar hive. I know I will have to feed them to help them start building comb and raising brood. I have read on this forum to give them 1:1 sugar syrup, but I have also read that feeding Megabee in syrup will really boost brood rearing...now I am undecided. Which would you do...Megabee in syrup or just syrup?

Plain 1:1 syrup is what they need to build comb and you won't have a whole lot of brood until some comb is partially drawn out so that the queen can lay. Most areas have pollen and nectar coming in now so there's no need for the Megabee. The bees have all this stuff figured out! Let them feed themselves whenever possible.

1:1 is fine. As mentioned, they'll find what they need out in the wild!
