    Default Bucket feeders

I am thinking of using this method.

Does this encourage robber bees and other pest like wasp? What other solution is there?

I like to feed with quart mason jars above the inner cover so I can keep track of how much feed each hive consumes and it gives me an opportunity to look through the hole in the inner cover to see if everything seems to be ok in the hive. Robert

I didn't want to have glass and so many jars...I wanted to be able to put a lot of feed on there at once. I also have all mediums and I didn't want to have more than one medium surrounding my bucket. I managed to track down a bucket that's just bigger than a gallon that'll fit inside a medium. PM if you'd like a link to it. When mixing up 1:1 I can put a whole 5 gallon back of sugar into the bucket, pour in 10 cups of warm water and just stir right inside the bucket, no pots, no pouring, no mess.

    I'll just post it here...easier:

Don't ever order over the phone w/them. They'll tell you that they don't know how much the shipping will be, then throw a 5lb catalog into your box and make you pay to ship it to yourself.

    website says they're in stock now...(no, I don't work for them, I promise )

I took a piece of thin wire, maybe 20 guage, can't quite remember, heated up the end and melted the holes into the lid. Maybe made 30-40 holes. Those wire size drill bits would work great too and be quicker but I don't have a set and was too cheap to buy them just for this.
