abhoney.com in northern Indiana has it for 34 cent per lb. They run a truck down I-65 often, which means if you are lucky enough to live near I-65 then delivery is free.

Nope, West Virginia is closer to the North pole than Alabama, so the forces of gravety should 'Bear' harder on them there Mountianers than it does on us Tide fans, 'we being closer to that Equate thing streched allway round the Earth's gut.'

I checked the current price at my local Sam's today. $ .60 - $.62 per lb depending on the size bag I get. Were in a drought/derth and I've got 10 or 12 nucs I'm feeding and trying to get up to 10 frames before fall.

Wow that's like .12 per lb. where do you find it at such low prices?

Keith - wish I could do more but that has about maxed my equipment and drawn comb. I add a few more each year. Thankfully I have not had to buy package bees for several years now and my yard keeps expanding. Time to do a couple outyards.

If you follow the supply chain upward (or backward) from the retailer, you'll find a commercial/industrial distributor of sugar. You may be able to buy by the barrel or by the tote or expanding pallet, but the one I deal with sells only by the tank truck load. They DO, however, have "spillover" sugar that they collect and put in 5 gallon buckets. If you bring your own bucket, they charge $4 per 5 gallons of sugar, which comes out to $0.20/lb. But they're almost always out.... they have beeks out the wazoo calling or stopping by daily to get the overflow sugar.

Follow the supply chain and look for the bulk distributor(s) in your area.

I have often bought pallets of sugar for use in the oil and gas industry. Sugar greatly retards the curing time of cement. That's its use to us. I always go to an independent grocery store and ask the manager for a volume discount. At times, sugar prices have been surprisingly cheap.
