Default New guy in South Carolina

Hello, I live in South Carolina, USA and this is my first post. I am 55yrs old, my wife and I live in a small community 30miles outside of Charleston. I am going to take delivery of my first bees this April. I am going to take responsibility for a nuc of Italians and one of Russians. I have been researching and planning this decision for 2yrs, I can't tell you all how much I look forward to working with these unique insects.
It looks as if I didn't follow proper protocol by not posting in the welcome thread first. I asked a question and got some good help quickly. Looking forward to learning from you guys. I'll try not ask a lot of dumb questions, no guarantees though.

Hi Ray, welcome I grew up in SC, I lived in Summerville for about a year. I also studied for years before I got into it. I love it, never thought I would. I have since sold all my RC stuff and model rockets. I now only have two hobbies, beekeeping and fishing.
All beekeepers can agree on one thing, and that one thing is, that all beekeepers can't agree on one thing.

Welcome Ray! I lived on Lady's Island for a couple years straight down the road they shot the "Big Chill" bridge scene.

My Italians are coming from Travelers Rest SC and a fellow named Tim Dover of Dover Honey Farm. My Russians are coming from Easley SC and a fellow named Dwight Porter of Porter Honey Bee Farm. Both of these guys have been very helpful and patient with me and are willing to answer questions. Great customer service, good folks. I am scheduled to pick up my nucs the evening of April 28th. They worked it out so that I would only have to make one trip.
