    Default excess comb from transfer

I didi a large removal yesterday but only had 4 frames to transfer comb. I had excess brood comb. Next time I will be sure to have more frames, however I was short handed.

My question is what does one due with excess brood comb? the offcuts from hive transfer??

I try to use every comb that has brood in it but I do understand that you were lacking frames. Any empty comb I pull out I throw into a bucket for melting down, along with the bits that I scrape out of the cavity. -james

Any scraps go into the melter, sometimes you may use empty brood comb in swarm traps. I guess that if you had extra frames then you could wire empty comb in them and use in brood boxs to help with build up of the hive and then change them out later. Jim

I would melt it down for personal use or feed it to the chickens, they love it.
