What is needed:

•zipcode
•date when the plant first bloomed
•name of the plant
•any comment you add gets added to the database so give detailed info about what was going on, if it was the end of the bloom just add that to the comments

There are about 10 huge plants on a south facing slope that started blooming yesterday and this is about 4-5 weeks early for us. The buds on the north facing side and ones in the shade are still tightly closed but my bees are going crazy for the open ones today as the high is supposed to be close to 60 deg and the low last night was 28 deg. I haven't seen any evidence of other Manzanita in the area blooming yet but I haven't really looked either.

Is there a consolidated archive of this from past years somewhere? I.E. a spreadsheet that is searchable by zip code, region, etc, other than just the long threads?

1-12-13 they started bringing in pollen here in hendersonville nc yesterday. not much but it`s a start!!! also found a big prety queen dead in front of one of my hives. the hive is not dead, scared to go in it right now. don`t want to get them started robbing but ill check and see if there is a quenn in that hive first chance i get.

I checked my hives in Stuart, Va, today (1/13) and they are bringing in lots of yellow pollen. They have been collecting it long enough to have packed into wallet sized areas of brood comb. They are also bringing in a green pollen. I don't know the source of either of the pollens.

It's now the 2013 blooming season. I'm sad to say that my blueberry bushes are blooming. The bees might like it, but it's risky for getting a good fruit set and survival.

Just got the first blooms on my lemon tree, Still has fruit on it from last season. Bees are strongly working Rosemary and one Eucalyptus tree that just bloomed. Many more Eucalyptus ready to pop open. Nights are down to about 33-35 F with one night dropping to 27F. Days warm to mid 50's but today warmer at 67F. Last month (Dec) bees were working pollen on a Loquat tree. Rain here two weeks ago, hillsides now sprouting grasses.

Weather has been very warm, 80 F highs with lows in 40's at night. "Cold snap" moving in this week (highs below 60 F and lows in high 30 F).

Pollen of all sorts has been pouring in since winter solstice.

Pine scrub: Rusty Lyonia is starting and bees working it hard today.

Backyard: Persian lime is just about done and bloomed out, bees done and moved on. Lemon flower buds still in developing stages.

The 2012 thread is a "Sticky", while the "2013" one is not.

Keep in mind that "database" that was intended to make all this data in a searchable form appears to be no longer maintained/available. (see the 2013 thread for more info in that). The usefulness for this information without someone loading it into an accessible database is rather limited, in my opinion. And the failure of many posts to contribute data in the *requested* style may have contributed to to the difficulty in maintaining the database.

P.S. If you are wondering how this post and also post #19 fit into this thread, its because they were originally posted in the 2012 thread. Then Barry "un-sticky-ed" the 2012 thread, made the 2013 thread a sticky, and moved these posts to the 2013 thread.
