No treatments other than some terramycin on some EFB. Seeing more EFB each year. About ten colonies of 80 on small cell, most at one site, 100% loss there last year. Up to 50% loss at my main site this year. Still looking like some kind of flu to me, don't see many dead mites on the bottom board of my dead hives. Don't see any nosema fecal mess. Late afterswarms are the best survivors, older hives the worst. One six year old hive started on a Weaver All American still hanging in there. The earliest swarms I catch can make a box or three, so I can make a partial crop on new starts. Haven't bought a package in years. I let the local bee club do that for me and trap their swarms. Have one very strong flying single brood chamber lured onto small cell foundation mid summer but also showing a lot of dead bees the last few weeks. Should send some in for testing.

I got an 80 pound average off six hives started from good five frame nucs drawing all foundation on what turned out to be great pasture. I also took small splits off them and ended up with 12 hives. One split was a hard luck story and had to be fed but everyone else made groceries til spring hopefully. I am very well pleased. I recieved them with a barely detectable mite load which was probably author of a lot of my good fortune. Will see what I can do next year. Merry Christmas all.

7800 lbs of honey from 55 hives for 141 lbs per hive, the best yard I had in my back yard produces an average of 180 lbs per hive. also produced 5 supers of cut comb and 5 ross rounds. my avg per hive is the highest I've had since moving to N.Y. we seemed to hit every flow except one this year even though July was a drought. hope next year will be the same, checked hives for weight last week and all but one are very heavy.

I read and listen to a large number of your posting... Do you move these bees to different locations based upon them being rented? And - I hope you are correct about the cycle.

I move my hives to SC, from their summer yds, for the winter. Then I move them from SC to NY for apple pollination. Then they are moved from the orchards to their summer locations in NY. Those are the moves they make.

Just shy of 900 Lbs. from 24 Hives. 6 were survivor hives, the rest were Pckgs. new this year from Waldo. 2 hives were failures due to queen haters. They all looked strong into the winter
The reason for the good take was crop rotation with soybeans surrounding me this year. And I think I did everything right and on time for once. Western New York is a microclimate that allowed collection and extraction well into October. The goldenrod just never stopped bloomin'
Great acceptance this year, getting between 7.00 to 11.00 per pound depending on retailing location. I love the local Harvest Festivals, especially for the opportunity to educate. And the local Holiday Markets had no other produce vendors but me. Thanks for supporting my lifestyle!!!

The weather in Ky wasn't conducive to making honey this year, or at least in my part f the state. With the pure Russians almost ending my beekeeping career, and the weather, I just don't want to think about it, it was so bad. About 3# per hive. ((:-(.
So much to learn, so little time!!

Terrible honey year in the Pacific Northwest with almost no surplus to none at all!
What little honey I did harvest was very dark for our area!?
One of the larger local beeks that has a store contract (selling honey) completely pulled all honey off the shelves and did not not sell any honey at all.
Most colonies were very light on stores and I started feeding around Sept. 1, and have been feeding fondant patties on a weekly schedule to try to make them survive the winter!
Spring was really wet, raining almost everyday and then it finally quit around early June and then had about 2-3 wks good bee weather, from then on we really got hot and too dry!

Kim Flottum from Bee Culture said 2010 was the worst year on record...until 2011. This year was 20% below 2010.

Worst year for me, no honey at all. Record rains in spring, record heat in summer.

An average of 60lbs per hive this year. Very poor. Chalk it up to a bizarre spring weather pattern followed by early june swarms just before the main privit flow.
Oh well, better luck this next year.
