Would not want to anywhere close to you!
I'm just a simple guy with simple needs.
Just make sure you get those jalapenos grilled next time with the onions!
I'm eating lasagna and listening to Prairie Home Companion while beesourceing and e-mailing. The wife brought me in some fresh baked cookies. Yum.

Watching the Red Green Show.....I might learn something.
often wondered how red green show would handle beehives
I'm having a 7-11 burrito and Reeser's potato salad in a tub because I spent all my money on bees.![]()

Charlie, That burger last night was a splurge for me. 18 bucks to feed me and my son was way to expensive for me for just one meal.
After a crappy day at work with the weekend here. I just got a little excited and thankful for it. I didn't have any money for bees this
year. So I stole it from the people I owe money to. Not the money for the food, the money to order two more packages and build hives.
I like the way you think Steve!

Lighten up. I was just trying to be silly.
We took our 7 year old grandson to another world this last Saturday. 650 feet below ground to the Kansas Underground Salt Mine Museum at Hutchinson. Like going to the moon - surreal, peaceful, awe-inspiring and an all around superb tour of a world beneath the world. He likes science and unusual things like that. Part of it is where Hollywood legendary films are stored due to the climate and absolute dry conditions- Underground Vaults and Storage. My daughter's clinic and many others maintain long-term records down there, among all sorts of papers and things needing protected. I need to post some photos. Never heard of a two-thumbed glove before. Wear the gloves, wear out the palms then switch hands and you have a brand new pair of unworn palms due to the second set of thumbs! Talk about being frugal and makes sense - I've never worn out the back side of a pair of gloves. They did things like that in the 30's & 40's to preserve material and get the most from the least. Might be a little dangerous around moving equipment.
Swobee,
So the two thumbed gloves were from back when the salt mine was in use? Did they have any of the big mining equipment
on display? That would be a cool day trip with the kids.
They have a saying 'whatever goes down the mine, stays in the mine'. There were modified autos- a model A pickup with no unnecessary accessories, such as windshield, doors, tailgate, and it was converted to electric with a long cord. It's sitting along a pillar where it was left years ago. Everything has to be carried down using an elevator. That means the equipment comes down in pieces and it's considered a waste of manpower time to dismantle and return it to the surface.
Some old specially made rail cars are still there, a trash pile they found when they opened up a long abandoned area, old tractor (maybe IHC W-9?- no labels on it), and some unusual looking mining equipment. Unusual because the ceilings are only 6-10 feet depending on the time it was mined so no high wheeled equipment could be used down there.
The mine is still operating and they say there is a 2,500 year estimated supply of salt. The museum and underground vault is in an area that hasn't been used for several decades. I'll try to post a few shots I took. The gloves still amaze me- how practical! Of course, those were Depression & WW-II era times.
Mike Rowe did a show there for Dirty Jobs five years ago. One of the few times he was actually serious and talked a lot about how the crew has to work with battery change-outs on cameras, lights, etc. Cool episode. Well, they all are cool IMO. I highly recommend the tour, our grandson is still talking about it.
Don't confuse me with facts... my mind is made up.
I have to ask - Prairie Home Companion... is that a real radio show? We watched the movie about the imaginary last night of production of the radio show. A lot of stars and some old fashioned entertainment. Reminded me of watching the old Porter Wagoner Show as a kid. An old timer moved into the area a few years ago and told me he was Porter's original drummer. He told stories of Dolly joining the show and meeting so many old stars from that era.
