    Default nuc??

How good is it to make a split with 3 frames of brood and a new laying queen? I have a friend that will let me have 2-3 nuc this way. I know i will have to feed them a little. Should keep them in the 3 frame box, move them to a 5 frame nuc box, or go ahead and put them in a 10 frame deep box?

I would put them in a 5 frame for now with some resources and let them grow out of it into a 10 frame.

Three frames should work great. I'd put them in a 5 frame nuc with two frames of foundation and when it's all drawn out add a five frame nuc on top and let them draw it out. By fall you should be able to shift them into a 10 frame deep. Tim
