I wonder if planting mint and thyme border around an apiary would help fend off varroa?
I read that menthol and thymol that these two plants produce affects varroa somewhat.
Even if it isn't 100% effective if probably can't hurt.
I know lots of bugs hate garlic and onions. I wonder if those have also ever been used?
Please don't blame me if your honey tastes like onions. It's just that I'm sure some plants
must be helpfull in deterring bugs that crawl without effecting bug that can fly over them.
Kind of like a castle wall. Of course the plants would have to have no affects on the bees
or their products.
