Color options on read and unread folders

I used to be able to see what folders had new posts easily as they were yellow. Now the difference in color between the read and unread is so slight, that my eyes can hardly pick it out.

Can I change the way folders are displayed? If so, where?

Do I just have to live with it?

A.

actually both, but especially A.

I used to be able to see quickly which folders had new and unread posts in them. Now it is very hard to distinguish the difference in the colors.

Once I go to a particular area, the B. icons are still hard to see the difference, but since the wording of the posts is darker on the unread ones, I can live with it.

OK, I'll work on making more of a contrast. I'll be having surgery in a month that will give me a lot of at home time to work on things like this.
