    Default Bee Cozy

    Has anyone used the bee cozies that NOD sells ? last year I used tar paper and it seemed to work but those cozies look even cozier?

    Go look at bee cozys at miteaway.com They are $13.50 ea but for me shipping was a showstopper. Go look at B&B Honey in Houston Mn. They have a hive wrap with about the same r factor that you can staple or tie in place. I think I will find a good tape and make them into a wecozy hive wrap. I chose to use the 27" tall offering scaled for three deeps. I plan to fold it over the top and cut an egress hole for the top entrances on my double deeps. I don't think the insulation does much good wintering but is extremely helpful for the bees when building up in our long cold spring seasons.
