Condo method of making nucs & splits

A beekeeper mentioned a method of making nucs by what he called condo splits. does anyone use this way of making splits and how is it done? It is used in large commercial operations. somthing about stacking all your boxes on top letting them kill all the queens then removing each box and adding a queen or queen cell.

Can you explain it a little, beyond it's name?

I know of these: http://robo.bushkillfarms.com/downlo...yMatingNuc.pdf which are sometimes called queen castles, and sometimes called mating condos, but i'm not sure if it's what you are referring to.

You could stack up all your poor colonies, let them fight it out, end up with one queen then make splits, no idea but maybe something like that.

Do you place one frame of bees, brood, and eggs into these to make new queens?
