Black honey bees?

So, I went out to my hives this am to pull some honey supers. All was going good, then on hive number 4 I ran into something strange. On the two out side frames on the left side there were some dead bees. They looked like they had drowned in honey and they were black. Am I up against a perisite? Please help.
