Most of the lotion/cream recipes call for mineral oil. I don't want to use any petroleum products, can I substitute olive oil? Or is there a better substitute? I know mineral oil has an indefinite shelf life, could I just add some vitamin E?

Olive oil works fine as does sweet almond oil.
