Question Open brood cells with pupa

There are a dozen or so open cells with pupa staring out. All in the midst of capped brood. The openings are partial, may by 2/3 of the cap surface. What is that? Thanks!

    1. larva that haven't been fully capped yet.
    or
    2. emerging workers.
    or
    3. hygenic behavior of bees uncapping dead, Varroa infested, or diseased pupa.

I see that a lot here too!! If I remember right, Randy Oliver described it as hygenic behavior (Varroa control) - and that the pupa will be recapped - I dont think that they are dieseased!

That's good. The pupa had eyes but not fully developed. Thank you for replying, guys.
