    Default Small Swarm, Yeah right

Took a late afternoon call to collect a 3-week swarm. Showed up and the bees were concealed in a storage tub. I pulled apart the tub side and openned up a huge active hive. Turns out the son said that they had been there for 3-months. A dozen combs approx 16" wide by 20" tall. Tried to move the tub but what I thought was weight of gravel, was the weight of the hive. Started a cut-out putting sections in frames, but it got too hot and had to break for the evening, and to go back and get more frames.

Question is, I collected several frames of honey with clinging bees...can I just add these, clinging bees and all, to a smaller hive to give them a boost? I plan to go back later today to finish the collection.

Yes, so long as there is not a queen on the frame.

    I agree.
When you stop learning you're dead.
