hi! i'm genie, i am new to bee keeping and i really enjoy the bees. i live in primm springs,tn.
i already have a querry. how long should an entrance reducer be left on a new hive?

Welcome Genie! I leave entrance reducers on year round to reduce small hive beetles and other intruders, and free up defenders to go forage.

thanks for the info about the reducer. i really try to watch my bees and am trying hard to learn as much as i can about them. i have friends who say their bees have swarmed this year but have learned that they are not taking any precautions to head them off. i am excited and willing to learn.
