frame + plastic foundation ?

I have a bunch of wired frames that I had intended to use with wax foundation. Now I want to try out some wax-coated plastic foundation. Can you put plastic foundation on wired medium or brood frames or do I have to clip off the cross wires. thanks Gail

cut the wires out, foundation will never fit without bowing and the bees will not draw it out even, you probably want to clean the edges and grooves of old wax/propolis anyway, it will be much easier without wires to slice your fingers

Ab is right, also plastic foundation works best with a grooved top and bottom bar. If I were you I'd go ahead and use wax foundation with the frames you already have wired and plan to buy grooved top and bottom bars for your plastic foundation.
