I'm not new at bee keeping but this is my first time joining this forum.
I have had bees since I was nine and now I'm running close to sixty.
I have never harvested honey, but enjoy watching the bees work.
In North East Ohio it is hard to winter over a hive, MITES!!
I just purchased a three pound package, today I opened the hive and feed them, bee syrup and also candy made with, honey, sugar, corn syrup and pollen replacer.
The candy is more like a foundate, and the bees love it.
For the first time a weeks we had a nice sunny day. The bees were busy out foraging and even have some uncapped honey. In our area the apples are just breaking color in the blossoms, some more warm days and we will have full blooms.
Hope all are well and have healthy hives.
