    Default extractor

I have a nine frame extractor from walter t kelley extracts 6 mediums and 3 deep frames. I think they are actually made by maxant but am not shure. I know to use food approved grease but where exactly do they need to be greased at.

I don't believe they where made by Maxant I think they used to make their own stuff, to grease it you have to pull the whole thing apart and place some in the cup that the basket rests in and at the top rotation point....

    It's made by Maxant.
Don't think you are on the right road simply because it is a well worn pathway.

They should be sealed bearings and not need grease. Graphite gears don't heat up like metal and metal gears are not allowed in extractors these days. Read that in a book before I ever got involved with bees.

In the conical bottom is a cup that holds the 1/2 ss ball bearing. Dab some food grade approved grease in there and you are good to go!
