As of April 7, my granddaughter finished her last chemo. On March 14 (my birthday, a wonderful present) they pulled the "port" from her chest.
She is officially "out of treatment," and doing beautifully. She'll need some speech therapy and prematurely lost a bunch of teeth, but the 2-1/2 year torture is behind her now. She turned 5 in March, and we threw a huge party for her once the final chemo was done.
Thanks to all of you who sent your kind thoughts over the years. Now, fingers crossed that remission is permanent.
