Default Starting an all mediums hive

For those who run all mediums or those who have run mediums as brood boxes: do you start with one medium or two when you start from a package?

I ended up being two sheets of foundation short on my remaining deep brood box for a package install (dumb oversight), so I went with a medium for lack of anything else.
I'm sure the bees will fill it up quickly, so I'm debating whether to run it as an all medium or just getting some foundation ordered and adding the brood box on top.

Start with one super. There is no reason to give them more space to protect and climate control than they need.

I started just with one box.
I added an additional box when 9 frames had comb build and 6 -7 frames had broad on them.
I do not use foundation and the bees followed nicely the comb guide that I gave them.

    Cheers

One box. That's plenty of space to get them going.

I put them in one. If I have a five frame nuc around and no drawn comb, I start them in a five frame medium box...

On the other hand if they are in an outyard and I know I won't be back for six months, I'd start them in five boxes...
