Default Splitting hives and having trouble with a couple acepting queens

I have done several splits this year and out of 8 splits, I have 2 that won't except queens. I've tried twice and I go back 2 weeks latter and can't find new eggs or brood or queen. When I put in queens I put in a frame of brood and frame of honey and pollen, put in queen wait 4 days and ( I have tape over the sugar plug) then remove tape so bees can let her out. Is there anything I can do to make this work? What I'm I doing wrong? Thanks!!!!!

Usually when they won't accept a new queen it means there's already a queen in the hive. Why don't you sit down and consume a couple cases of adult beverage and see what transpires? In other words wait! Give them some time! 2 weeks is not too long to wait before you start getting excited.

In the mean time give them a frame of open brood once a week.

Buy queen cells if you see no brood in a week or so.
