    Default Newbee Tampa Bay Fl

Hi all, I am trying to get into beekeeping as a hobby.

Would like to make friends with fellow beekeepers in West Central Fl Tampa Bay.

I live in New Port Richey on 1 acre with quite few birds and gamebirds.

It is time for some bees to join happy family.

Any help will be appreciated, mostly local sourcing of bees, nucks etc.

    Andrew S

Welcome Andrew, I forgot to tell you we have a few beekeepers from New Port Ritchie at the USF Bee Workshops. I will let Bob know he has bee neighbors.

Thanks for reply and PM, is there a meeting next Sat? I'd like to learn something and meet fellow bees here.

Indeed Saturday April 30th at the University of South Florida Botanical Gardens just North of the corner of Bruce B Downs and Fowler on Pine. There is a huge sign on the corner across from Panera's. Once a year in April, about 50 to 75 soon to be beekeepers take home bees in the hive they built in March. It will literally look like a swarm, of beekeepers too! The gate opens at 9:00 and you might want to get there quick. The State Bee Inspector will be there to meet and greet, and help all the new beekeepers. Travis is a great asset to the local beekeepers.
