    Default overwintered colonies

    What would be the smallest overwintered colony that would still be a viable colony? I.E. If you only have one frame of bees can they recover? This is from a hobbyist standpoint.

    It is possible! I have been reading up on this stuff and find it very interesting. Check out what Dr. Joe Latshaw is doing at the following web link

    I talked with him over the phone and he mentioned he may be switching to two frames of bees so as to avoid the need to feed them.

    As well this youtube video is really cool. I plan to join both ideas in a heated bee shed that I keep at 47 degrees through the winter.
