    Default ruff wood

I came across some rough cut 5/4 german pine.I want to make some medium supers. Is the rough inside going to cause any problems.Ex: will bees propolize it more? Will I be providing pests a haven? ect...If I had a planer,I could shave them and still have thicker hives(betterbee)

That is what you'll have, thicker hives. Also longer and wider. Will your top covers fit on the larger dimension box ext..

newbie chimming in but if you have hives already it seems wise to make everything compatible. I have a friend who makes top bar hives frome anything he can get for free, has no problems...From my home building experience a bigger "wall" (insulation) for the elements is better, but bees need good ventilation as well..... things to ponder i suppose
