    Default How much clean up?

My hive died out this winter (starved.) I'm getting ready for my new package and was wondering how extensive the clean up has to be. There are many bees head first in the cells, do they all have to be pulled out or will the new bees take care of it?

Take the frames of dead bees and tap them upside down to knock out as many of the dead bees as easily possible or use a shop vac, not necessary but gives the bees a head start instead of cleaning up the frames they can be making babbie's and honey...

Bees can, and will, do all the work if you let them. Clean up enough to assuage your conscience.

My question in this is "do you give them a few frames back at a time or do you just go ahead and give a swarm all 10 frames from the dead out and let them do their thing?" I would think that you should be able to give them all only from the fact that "who cleans out a dead hive in nature?" The bees.
