Default cutting deep to fit medium frames

I am going to have a few old deep frames with drawn foundation and maybe capped honey.I would like to cut them out of the old frames and install into new medium frames using rubber bands.(to use inside new nucs or packages) My question is do I cut them to fit as tight as possible into the new frames or leave a little space for bees to work with?

You could leave a small gap at the corners if you want to leave them a little passage from one side to the other, but I'd make sure you have good contact on all 4 sides of the frame...they'll connect it up and then it'll be solid, just makes them easier to handle imho.

Lay an empty frame on them and cut to fit. That's what I'd do.

Use a table saw run the bottom bar against the saw fence. Tack on a strip of wood for a new bottom. Apply heat to the new bottom bar so the wax melts to it. Why work so hard for a mess by transfering to a whole new frame?

    Measure twice and cut once.lol

The frames are falling apart and I only have a hand full to do. I also do not want any more deeps switching over to all mediums. I know it will be messy but for a few I will do it to help my packages to start off better. Thanks for the info.
