What about,
Beekeepers are occasional smokers
With a picture of a smoker...
Front: I piss off 30,000 girls daily
Back: What makes you think I care about you?
...This, and my heart, and all the Bees
Which in the Clover dwell.
High flying bees going into the hive type of picture followed by the phrase " Pennies from heaven! " OMTCW
INCOMING! (with a picture of a bear ducking and looking in the direction of a cloud of bees about to attack! The hive is scattered.)
"Varroa Mites Suck"
I always liked this picture. I actually found one on Ebay.

Zone 7A - Southern, MA. Elevation 138 ft.
4 hives: 1 Carniolan/Italian Hybrid, 2 Swarms from that hive and 1 Russian.
@John C--I like that too.
If you make shirts, please offer some girlie-style shirts too! (not the design, but the cut of the shirt)
Target with bee and stinger buried in the bullseye. Don't really need the shirt as my bees are 10 ring shooters anyway!![]()
Have to say I find this idea fantastic. Easy for "non-bee" people to get the meaning. I think most people are familiar with the latter part of the saying (but maybe most don't know the original meaning...) and who hasn't seen bees being smoked on TV? I laughed out loud when I saw this one![]()
My suggestions (other than I like OD Frank's suggestion):
1) don't make the shirt yellow. Bees are not yellow. Honey is not yellow.
2) don't make the bees look like yellow jackets. Bees are fuzzy. Bees are not yellow. They may have some black on them, or not. make them look like a honey bee. Make them look friendly.

Can't say I get into the ones that insult the reader. Obviously it works for others.
What about "How sweet it is!" with an image that evokes the sweetness of honey.

Agreed. I really hate the fact that most honeybee representations don't look anything like a honeybee. You won't find any black and yellow striped cartoon figures in my designs.
Did Odfrank make a suggestion? I'm not seeing it.
I will likely stay away from anything too stiff or rude-sounding. Even if it is funny, I just want to make things that are on the light side. I do appreciate all the ideas people offer though, as sometimes an idea that I might not use helps me come up with another idea that works for what I'm up to.
So far, I've made two and I'm going to keep at it. When I've got enough ready, I'll post a link to what I've made.
Thanks again for whatever you feel like throwing into the mix.
Adam
If anyone has a really good picture of a queen where she's clearly visible without other bees obstructing her, I'd like to use one to create a "God Save the Queen" shirt.
I'm also wondering if anyone knows of sources for old bee illustrations - ones old enough to be legal to reproduce. Some of those might look nice on a shirt...

Maybe some of the people who collect print editions of old bee tomes would be willing to scan some of the engravings??? --DeeAnna
It was a bit risque... but I still liked it... maybe it got removed.

I found a few images that might be of interest, including one of a queen bee, Adam. I couldn't resist including a totally irrelevant but goofy "Mail Box Test" ad.
All images are selections from Gleanings in Bee Culture, 1875 and 1902, from Google Books. See: http://classicbells.com/bees/bees.html --DeeAnna
I would like to see people buying their hats and T-shirts from Barry, and for those using the site to promote their products I'd like to see them buying an ad.
