are the screened bottom boards for mites and beetles the same size mesh size (opening size) or are beetles mesh bigger since they are?

Screened bottom boards normally use number 8 hardware cloth (eight squares per inch).

Small hive beetles crawl through number 8. Put a tray of oil under the screen and they will not crawl back in the hive.
