    Default Is this a swarm cell?

    I put a few pictures with questions on a blogspot site.

    I am wondering if he top post is a swarm cell.

    It appears to just be a cup. Was there a larvae in it?

    By position it would be a supercedure cell.

    definatley a queen cup. you will see those all the time in colonies. Only "worry" when there is a larvae and royal jelly in the cell!

    This is a supercedure cell as others have stated just keep your eye on it for larva. swarm cells 99% of the time will be on the lower part of your frame and be more than one.you may also want to keep a eye on your queen's pattern if it is spotty or her pheromones are getting week they will supercede her.

    Yep....supercedure for sure. They just make them as "just in case" cells...

    Thanks for the input, hope it doesn't make the ole lady uncomfortable knowing they are ready to ditch her at any time. Hope my kids don't start polishing my casket one day.
