My daughter and I are just getting started in Beekeeping. I have joined our local beekeeper association, which has been extremely helpful. I also read "Beekeeping for Dummies", which was a great book.
We are planning to start with two hives. We have a two acre yard, and many of the trees I have planted in the past are beneficial to bees. Such as the tulip tree, sourwoods, maples, hawthrorns, redbuds and pear trees.
When I was a child, my grandfather had bees. And I thought it was the coolest thing in the world to watch him work those bees.
