    Default New Box

Just made my firsy hive box and placed a frame in it to test clearances. My first frame seems very close to the wall of box. Is there suppose to be a certain space between first frame and wall?

I make mine frame rest to frame rest 19 1/8 in. Bee space should be about 3/8 in.
Don't think you are on the right road simply because it is a well worn pathway.

Yes it feels great. Building a horizantol hive and the width for the frame is 18 7/16". I know the frames have to be a 3/8" spacing and I just didnt have that spacing inbetweenframe and wall.

might need to add a shim on each end for the frame to rest on to keep it off the wall about 1/4 inch.
