Greetings from the deep south

Hi, All, I just retired from a paying job and am looking at beekeeping as a hobby - not for the income. I am taking a class with our local group - Baldwin County Beekeepers Assn. (Alabama).

I am interested in top bar hives although the locals don't seem to be. Is there an Alabama/Mississippi/West Florida top bar person out there? I would like to discuss deep south conditions etc.
