Helllo my name is bruce . I live in northern n.y. 61 years old, have just 1 hive. bear got the other three. It is a hobby for me. grandkids and others enjoy the free honey. I made mead last year it turned out very good. I wish I would have made more it is all gone. lol

Welcome Bruce! You need to do something about those bears before you're not a beekeeper again. Bear rugs is a last resort. Strap the hive together with heavy ratchet straps, fence, electric fence, etc.

Hey Bruce. i just went thru Harrisville yesterday, in the blinding snow storm. Or was that friday? Friday it was. How is your bear fence? You really aught to get a good one built before hibernation time is over. Those bears will be real hungry. Are your bees buried under the snow? Do you make maple syrup too?
