    Default Starting Out in WA

    My name is Bill and I have been lurking on these boards and reading reading reading for the past few weeks. I hope to get started with a backyard beehive this spring. Tonight I will be attending my first bee association meeting. Thanks to all of you who post your experiences and knowledge on this board. It has helped me so much in figuring out how I want to run my first hives.

    I see you are proud of what you do/did! But then I am MM3man on another forum. You already have the basic principle in your head. Easy does it on opening and watch where you set things:<}

    Thanks for the warm welcome folks I think I'm going to try just one hive from a package this spring and maybe if I get lucky I will get a swarm call sometime to make 2. I'm really excited to get my first pieces of wooden ware in the mail and start building!

    Welcome! Over the past year, Ive found the collective knowledge here is just amazing. My advice would be to spend a good weekend just reading everything you can- then start doing searches for everything else you can think of!

    Welcome Bill, This is a great site for collecting lots of info, Sounds like your on the right track heading out to a meeting. Pick up a good mentor and half your problems will be avoided, the other half will be fun to work solve. Washingtons Master beekeepers program is worth the time.. Good luck
