I am just starting out in this new adventure with one hive. I pick up my Carniolan Bees in April. I started a bee friendly garden this past summer. 130 x 60 feet of red, white and yellow clover as the ground base. I have planted a variety ( 65 ) of nectar / pollen perennials that the Utah State Extension recommended this fall through out this garden for the girls. I started charting the pollen time tables and pollen colors of the trees, shrubs and flowers in my area last year. I have been following this forum for the past 8 months. Thanks for all the great advise / ideas. I look forward to learn more from all of you. Plan to join a local Bee club this month. If there is any Utah Beekeepers out on the forum drop me a line. Like I said, just starting out. What to see if this is a hobby to pursue as a sideliner when I retire in Central Utah.
