Today I ran out of cypress so I opted for a piece of 3/4" walnut to make the two sides and back of a screened bottom board frame. I personally don't like the smell of walnut in my shop which comes from the dust of newly cut wood. Aged walnut doesn't smell. Has anyone had any experience with walnut wooden ware? I don't think I'd make hive bodies or supers out of it because of the cost, but I'm more concerned with how this wood affects the bees.
