The short answer is no, the chances of disease being spread by spores in wax is almost nonexistent. There is some chemical contamination in small amounts but I have not seen any studies that have proven damage to the bees from using all wax foundation or wax coated plastic foundation.

I have always used my capping wax from the year before and never bought any. I think the only difference in white or yellow is the white has been bleached.
